Monte Grappa is a sacred mountain as during WWI the fiercest battles were fought up there and this year the Giro celebrated the 100th year from the beginning of that war. The crowd was just fantastic more than 1 hour of pure cycling, sweat, and fatigue. The riders endured a tough stage, and all gave their very best.

The same happenend the following day in the “INFERNO” litterally tranlated as hell of the Zoncolan. Again a nice day with a lot of cycling enthusiasts pacing up very slowly to reach the summit on that prohibitive climb. You’ve got to be fit to do it without suffering. Many were stopping just to relax and gain some breath that would soon vanish on that 7 kms. climb on a average gradient of 18%. The cyclists already proved by 3 weeks of racing were just passing by very slowly, their faces were showing the hardship to stay in balance on the bicycle. The crowd, the snow and the sunny day did the rest.
