Nice day in the alps and the riders were just checking out their shape for the coming giro d’Italia which was about to beginn in a week’s time in San Remo. The 3rd stage was quite hard as there were some tough climbs to go over and the finish was on a small village sitting on the side of the mountain. The beginning of the climb had a 12% gradient which was only easing short before the finish line.
The crowd was quite excited and on such races you really manage to get very close to the riders. I had a great time and some of the professional riders took their time to pose with me for a picture, thanks a lot fellow riders. Once the riders reached their bus I could admire their bicycles, and also the careful job the mechanics were putting into cleaning and getting the bicycles ready for the stage on the following day. It is really nice to see what happens behind the scene once a race is over. Enjoy some of the pictures in attachment.
